Ceremonies & gatherings

A ceremony shaped like your person.

There is no script here. Some families want candlelight and quiet. Some want a bluegrass band and a potluck. Some want ancient ritual, and some want something no one has ever done before. Our celebrants help you build the goodbye that is true to your person, your traditions, and your beliefs, whatever they are.

Ways families gather

Vigils

Unhurried time with your person, at our funeral home or in your own home: candles, music, silence, stories, whatever holding space looks like for your family. Hours or days, your pace entirely.

Laying-in ceremonies

For families choosing terramation, the laying-in is the farewell itself: flowers, letters, and last words placed alongside your person in the Chrysalis™ vessel. Simple, participatory, and profoundly moving.

Home funerals

Some families want the whole goodbye at home, the way it was for generations. Our staff guides and supports you through every step of it, and we are there as much or as little as you would like.

Celebrations of life

A gathering that sounds like your person: their music, their food, their people, their humor. At our gathering spaces, outdoors, or anywhere that meant something to them.

The people who hold the space

Our celebrant team is one of the things families remember most: life celebrants who craft a ceremony from who your person actually was, a death midwife who companions families through vigils and home funerals, and a bilingual celebrant so that a goodbye can happen in the language of the heart. They serve every tradition and every belief, religious, spiritual, or entirely secular, with the same reverence.

Families sometimes ask us about an open-air pyre ceremony. It is available only in limited circumstances where state air-quality permitting allows. If it speaks to you, speak with us and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
