Portrait of Lorraine Gutierrez-Sugg

In Loving Memory

Lorraine Gutierrez-Sugg

October 13, 1957 – August 15, 2025

On the morning of August 15th, 2025, Lorraine Gutierrez-Sugg, 67, passed away in Longmont, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was born on October 13,1957 during a blizzard in Longmont, Colorado to Anita (Cordova) and John (Gilbert) Gutierrez.

She earned a BA in English from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. Lorraine served as a paralegal for more than three decades at prominent law firms retiring in 2024. She researched her family genealogy extensively during retirement.

Lorraine was actively engaged with St. Ambrose Church, contributing to the altar guild, various church events, and the gardening club, as well as participating in a vibrant book group known for its travel-inspired themes, murder mysteries, dinners, and creative discussions.

Lorraine found joy in long walks accompanied by audiobooks, hikes surrounded by the beauty of nature and blooming flowers, and quiet moments of meditation and journaling. She also had a fondness for horror movies. She loved music, especially live concerts—and had a flair for home décor. She enjoyed cooking, particularly baking, and according to some, was best known for her chocolate chip cookies. She traveled the world with family and friends whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Weston Lee Sugg, and Brandon Ross Sugg; her family includes older brother James, younger sisters Betty, Sandra, and Angie; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Craig Ross Sugg, and her father, John (Gilbert) Gutierrez.

A private celebration of life is being held for Lorraine at Chautauqua Park.
