In Loving Memory
John Brewer
1951 – 2025
‘Jack’
‘Marshal Jack Murphy’
1951 – 2025
A 3rd generation Colorado native, Jack lived all of his years there. He loved the mountains and made his home high in the foothills with his wife, Georganne. Even a wildfire could not convince them to leave. Being a Colorado native means being a HUGE Bronco fan, and that he was.
He loved his association with SASS (Single Action Shooting Society); it gave him opportunity to hone his cowboy shooting skills and compete with others. He amassed an impressive array of awards and honors. His friendships there far outnumbered his awards and were very dear to him. He was the ‘man behind the curtain’ at SASS using his computer skills to keep many clubs’ websites up and running and scores posted.
Jack was a computer engineer for over 40 years with Hewlett Packard then Agilent Technologies and retired from Broadcom. When asked what he was going to do when he retired, his reply was “Whatever I want”.
Jack loved his family. He was a loving husband to Georganne who proceeded him in death 2 years earlier. They loved their home on the mountain. HIs daughter, Trina, meant the world to him and he to her. Trina was his caregiver through his illness, making sure he could attend the SASS shoots and joining him in the competitions.
.
He was grandfather to Amanda; he taught her to shoot and would stay up until 3-4 in the morning playing video games with her. She remembers he took her to Elitch’s every summer and rode every rollercoaster ride with her. He was her best friend.
Jack will be sorely missed by his family (daughter, grand daughter, 3 great grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews), friends, neighbors and shooting buddies. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his amazing strength and courage in adversity.
