Portrait of Jo Fuhrman

In Loving Memory

Jo Fuhrman

September 8, 1934 – July 12, 2022

Mother and Grandmother Jo Ellen Fuhrman, known to many for her determination and unfailing wit and kindness, passed away due to colon cancer on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She was 87 years young when the angels beckoned.

She was born Jo Ellen Lottridge on September 8, 1934 and raised in midwestern locales until her family found California in 1951. After graduating high school, Jo attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where she met husband Glenn; the couple returned to California for Glenn’s military service, and it was there the family started to grow. Sons Stephen Carl (Abbie) and Roger Glenn (Monica) were born in California; after a return to Boulder in the early 1960s, sons Eric Paul (Becky) and Kurt Michael (Judy) joined the brood/march/platoon/force (pick your favorite).

The family relocated to Delta, CO where Jo served Delta County for years as an office administrator, a reporting transcriber and court bailiff; she eventually built a private transcribing business that she continued for several years after retiring from her County position. She also saw her family members through ongoing life adjustments, including her sons’ college adventures, her sons’ marriages, the arrival of grandchildren (a total of eleven) and all of life’s other twists and turns. Through it all, one constant remained: Jo’s companionship and sense of humor were invaluable to all of us and her extended families at Windsor Gardens and Corbin Manor. We’re grateful to all friends and family that have shared the adventure with Jo. If you are inclined to make a gift in her memory, we’d suggest a local pet shelter or the American Cancer Society. And Jo would be reminding all of us to keep looking on the humorous side of the clouds along the way.

You are welcome to join us for a life celebration for Jo beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Roots Restaurant, 1200 Miramonte Street in Broomfield, CO.
