Craig Sugg

On the afternoon of March 3, 2025, Craig Ross Sugg passed away at his home in Erie, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family. Craig was a twin born to Everett Lee Sugg and Martha Lee Sugg in Denver, Colorado on April 30, 1956.

Craig is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lorraine Sugg (nee Gutierrez), his children Weston Sugg and Brandon Sugg, his eldest brother Philip Martin Sugg, and several in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Craig is preceded in death by his twin brother, Monte Kent Sugg, and his parents.

Craig’s family moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1961 where he attended Boulder Valley Schools and graduated from Fairview High School in 1974. He and Lorraine lived in Louisville, CO for over 30 years before moving to Erie. Craig worked for many years as a manufacturing welder/brazer.

Craig was known for his sense of humor and love for pranks. His greatest joy was his family and he appreciated the care he received from his youngest son, Brandon, in his last years. He enjoyed sports, especially CU football and basketball, and watching his sons play lacrosse and football. He was a wonderful cook, grill master and foodie.

Craig loved all outdoor activities, boy scouts, camping, fishing and exploring. He spent many summers at Holts Guest Ranch in Tin Cup, Colorado, with his family and extended family. The Sugg family cabin in Big Elk Meadows was a special place for him and his family. Craig, Lorraine and the boys had fond memories of ice skating on Rainbow Lake, sledding, fishing, hiking, holidays and playing board games and cards with family and friends.

They traveled from the West Coast to the East Coast, Mexico, Maui and Europe. Craig was very spiritual, a quiet conservative, loved music, and had a beautiful baritone voice, singing in the show choir Excalibur in high school.

A collector of many things, Craig’s family will now be the keepers of his collections and will continue to treasure their memories of him. He is dearly missed.
